Dan McIntyre is a Professor of English Language and Linguistics. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a committee member of the Poetics and Linguistics Association (PALA). Professor McIntyre is a series Editor of Advances in Stylistics (Continuum) and Perspectives on the English Language (Palgrave), and an associate editor of the international journal Language and Literature (SSCI, A&HCI). An author of Point of View in Plays: A Cognitive Stylistic Approach to Viewpoint in Drama and Other Text-types (2006), History of English: A Resource Book for Students (2008), Stylistics (2010), Professor McIntyre has also edited Stylistics and Social Cognition (2007), Language and Style (2011), and Teaching Stylistics (2001) and produced more than forty papers concerning stylistics, narratology, English language and literature.
