Professor Knut Brynhildsvoll is a senior fellow at the University of Oslo, director of Center of Ibsen Studies. He is also a guest professor of north European literature at the University of Cologne, Germany. His research area covers modern literature and literary theories (from romanticism to postmodernism), and he has published about 10 books in Norwegian, German and English, including Documentary Theatre, Hanns Henny Jahnn and Henrik Ibsen, Studies on the Works of Henrik Ibsen and Their Influence, The Literary Space: Concepts and Drafts, and Knut Hamsun’s Antipsychological Novel Writing. The author of more than 200 essays, he is a famous expert in the field of international Ibsen studies. He is also the editor-in-chief or a member of editorial board of many journals including Ibsen Studies, Foreign Literature Studies, and Studia Scandinavica. Since 2012, he has been serving International Association for Ethical Literary Criticism as its Vice-President.
