論文題目：“Identity, Nationhood and Multiculturalism in Postcolonial Pakistani Fiction: A Comparative Study of Hamid, Shamsie and Kureishi”

論文簡介：This endeavor aims to explore and examine the enigmatic identity of Pakistani society as portrayed in the contemporary Anglophone fiction by Hamid, Shamsie, and Kureishi, to develop an insight to understand its nature and to dispel the wrong myths about the country; so that it may help in canalizing harmony and peace in the region. These writers collectively counter the singular representation of Pakistan, revealing the nation’s multiplicity and contribute in the construction of Muslim identities and nationhood in the repercussion of 9/11. In addition, it explores the multicultural and identity conflicts as grounds of alienation and disillusionment of the characters in the selected novels in the light of theories proposed by Post-Colonial theorists Homi K. Bhabha and Edward Said. The study not only suggests how to live side by side in a multicultural society but also intends ways to live beyond borders and acquire a hybrid identity.
